January 12, 2021 -- Founding team members from crowdsourcing powerhouse, GasBuddy, have set sights on changing the world of Esports and have launched their mobile game, OneShot Golf. OneShot Golf is the world’s first competitive robotic minigolf game that uses Connected Reality technology to put users in control of real world golfing robots for a true-to-life Esports experience. Players will be able to compete against one-another for daily prizes on many different golf courses. It’s truly a unique, competitive, and addictive gaming experience! You can’t fake real! Any live video that you have watched in the past decade is not truly “Live”. It’s not real time. It’s typically multiple seconds delayed. Even the best technologies from the live streaming service apps that you know and love have multiple seconds of latency. After two years of active research and development, 54e has developed Connected Reality technology which is being introduced to the world through the launch of its first mobile game, OneShot Golf. Connected Reality (CR) is a new technology combining real-time user communication and ultra-low latency live video to control real-world robots from distant locations. OneShot Golf uses this technology to build a new class of skills-based Esports, which gives users control of the real world through their mobile device. It’s a way to give people a chance to have some fun, control robots, and win some cool prizes while competing in daily tournaments. The app currently has 10 courses available (5 holes per course) with more coming soon. Watch others golf while you are waiting, receive messages when someone has bumped you out of first place and get back in there and try again. That’s the thrill of it! “We are hoping that our OneShot Golf users will value the user experience of playing a mobile game that is happening in the real world. Those who see themselves as early adopters of new technology, those who are interested in golf … or not, and those who are interested in competitive gaming and Esports will all adopt OneShot Golf,” said Tim Borgares, Co-Founder and CTO of 54e Dev Studios. “We wanted to bring something unique to the Esports space - an experience that can’t be found anywhere else in the world,” said Dustin Coupal, Co-Founder and CEO of 54e Dev Studios. “We’re super excited about the upcoming launch of OneShot Golf, which lets users control a real putter and hit a real golf ball on a real mini golf course.” “Many millions of dollars have been spent building physics engines in an effort to mimic reality. Using CR and a warehouse full of golfing robots we are bringing true- to-life physics to competitive Esports ,” said Tim Borgares, co-founder and CTO of 54e Studios. Building an innovative tech company is nothing new for Dustin Coupal, former co-founder of GasBuddy. When GasBuddy launched in 2000, they were one of the world’s first crowd-sourced consumer applications ever created, pre-dating the often recognized “father of internet crowdsourcing,” Wikipedia. GasBuddy is a consumer app that helps users find the cheapest gas prices in their region, which they grew to over 60 million downloads and 12 million monthly active users before selling to Oil Price Information Systems (OPIS) in March 2013. OneShot Golf is available for download on iTunes and Google Play. To learn more about OneShot Golf visit www.oneshotgames.com
